August 2022 Edition of the Nashville Bar Association’s Trial Court Opinion Newsletter is Available

By Anthony Legal,

Since its inception, David Anthony has served as an editor for the Nashville Bar Association’s Notable Trial Court Opinion newsletter.

This goal of this quarterly publication is to find interesting and novel opinions from the trial courts in Davidson County, Tennessee, which could provide useful guidance to lawyers and litigants appearing before the Davidson County Circuit Court and Chancery Court Judges.

The August 2022 Edition was recently published and features recaps of cases involving Tennessee mechanic’s lien statutes, requests for injunctive relief, and post-divorce real property litigation.

There is tangible value in seeing how trial court judges apply Tennessee law.  “The trial courts are the first (and sometimes only) place that weird and first-impression issues in Tennessee law are examined, and seeing specific instances of how the trial courts are interpreting statutes and case precedent is critical for Tennessee litigators,” says Anthony. “Most court rulings never get appealed, and, without a project like this, Middle Tennessee lawyers miss out on most of the decisions that are relevant to their practices.”

This is just one of many of the valuable resources offered by the Nashville Bar Association, and, specifically, a full archive of the newsletter can be found on the NBA’s Trial Court Opinion page.
