David Anthony named a 2020 “Attorney for Justice” by Tennessee Supreme Court

By Anthony Legal,

We are pleased to announce that David Anthony has been recognized by the Tennessee Supreme Court as a 2020 “Attorney for Justice.”

This is David’s fourth time receiving this honor from the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Court’s Access to Justice Commission. To qualify for this recognition, an attorney must provide a substantial amount of pro bono hours  in legal service to those who cannot afford the costs. The goal of the recognition program is to encourage Tennessee attorneys and law offices to provide pro bono services by celebrating those lawyers who show this high commitment to helping low income and at-risk Tennesseans.

In 2020, David devoted a significant amount of time counseling individuals and Tennessee businesses struggling with historically unprecedented crises, including the March 2020 Nashville tornado, the wide-ranging impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and, later, the Christmas Day bombing on Nashville’s Second Avenue.

It’s an honor that David doesn’t take for granted: “What I appreciate the most about this award is that it’s not one that you can game the system to win. It doesn’t matter how big your law firm’s marketing budget is or who you know. All that matters is that you give your time and expertise generously, in service of those most in need. You have to earn this award.”
